Autotask Minimum API Role Permissions

When integrating Adaptive Catalog with Autotask, you may wish to use a role that can access only the minimum necessary Autotask resources. Follow these steps to create an Autotask API User with minimum permissions for use with Adaptive Catalog.

1. Inside Autotask, navigate to Admin -> Account Settings & Users -> Security Levels

   

2. Click the context menu icon next to the API User (system) (API-only) role and select Copy

3. Give the role an appropriate name, such as Minimum AC Permissions, then click the

No Permissions link under each section.

4. Drill into the following sections and set the properties as follows:

• CRM:

  

• Inventory:

  

• Reports:

  

• Admin:

  

• Web Services API:

  

5. Save the new role

   

6. Create an API User

7. Assign Minimum Permissions Role
8. Generate Username and Secret
